BrightSparks4Kids is absolutely committed to manufacturing products that are both safe to use and environmentally friendly.
BrightSparks4Kids work closely with its suppliers to ensure compliancy with the requirements of the directive and every effort will be made to gather supplier statements of compliance to RoHS.
The RoHS Directive (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) adopted by the European Union restricts the use of certain substances currently used in or as part of the manufacturing process in certain electronic components and assemblies. Restricted substances are cadmium, hexavalent chromium, mercury, lead and certain brominated flame retardants (PBB and PBDE) [ref: European Directive 2002/95/EC 27-January-2003].
The RoHS directive states that as of July 1, 2006, electrical and electronic equipment manufacturers must eliminate the use of all of the above materials. Although RoHS is a European Union (EU) Directive, manufacturers of EEE outside Europe must also abide by this legislation if the equipment they produce is ultimately imported into an EU member state.
As of January 2010 all BrightSparks4Kids products will be RoHS compliant.
The directive does not require products to be marked in any way, however BrightSparks4Kids will clearly indicate with a RoHS compliant logo on either the outer packing box or on the product itself.
All information regarding compliance is accurate to the best of our knowledge.
